Week 4 - Part 2
Ah I finally attended my first lecture! What a relief it feels. I actually felt the urge to read the course material before the course (something I’ve never really done for any of my classes) because I felt I was so behind. We went through recursion which wasn’t bad at all. I feel the urge to drop the course but also at the same time believe I can still do well… On top of that I’m now enrolled in computer science post which have me paying fixed fee… so whether I take 3 or 6 I’m part of the fortunate few who have to pay 8500. So I will stick it out to the midterm and see if I have any chance of passing before I drop!

Week 4
Ahh!!! It seems that things in this course are not progressing to well for me. Due to my idiocy, I’ve forgotten to check the due date of assignment 1 and thought it was in class and the same time due as the problem set! It is now 1am and 3 hours past the due date and I just realized it was due. I just reread through the course syllabus and it seems that there is no late work accepted (especially due to forgetfulness).
Again I have no one to blame but myself so I have to accept that I have the 0%. Hopefully I can do well in the rest of the course in order to make up for my first few weeks. I’ve gone through partially half of the assignment right now but its 1am right now 3 hours past the due date. I’m however stuck on number two. However I’m going to try to finish the assignment anyways whether or not I have to turn it in since I have a feeling the test is going to have some questions similar to the assignment on it.
So to recap on my 236 progress so far… I’ve missed 11+1.8+1.8% of the course marks already. Attending my first lecture of my year this week and my first 236 lecture Thursday… well I’ll tell you how it goes!

Week 3
Unfortunately for me, this is actually my first week of school due to reasons beyond my control. I thought missing 2 weeks of school would not have been so bad but it seems that when I first reviewed the course syllabus, I’ve already missed 2 problem sets. It’s only been 4 months of summer and I’ve forgotten the pace at which university courses pass by.
I’ve already missed two problem sets in this course but I understand the consequences of missing it and as it is out of my control I must accept it. However, today I had a chance to review the whole course and things look very similar to the proofs we have done in 137 and 165. I feel confident in this course as I did better in 165 then 145 and feel comfortable dealing with theory and proof rather than coding.
I spent the day reviewing the first two lectures and going through the problem sets even though I couldn’t turn it in. I’m not struggling too much reading through the material and understanding it but I do have some trouble with the notations and not sure what style of proof is mostly preferred but I guess that’s understandable from not attending any of the lectures thus far. Next Thursday is my first lecture and hopefully I don’t miss on it as well. Also printed out assignment 1 but I have yet to look through it.
Anyways… I like the idea of a course log… because I enjoy blogging. I wonder if that’s the reason why my entry is so long. I always enjoyed the idea of a journal to keep my thoughts organized. It’s just sometimes I do not have the time or remember to blog. Hopefully having this course log as a mandatory requirement for my grade will force me to come on here more often!
